Have you heard about human trafficking, but need a better understanding of what it is ... and isn't? SWCC's adult and continuing education department will be hosting Human Trafficking: It's not like the movies on Wednesday, Oct. 10, from 6:30-8 p.m., in the Instructional Center, room 180, on the SWCC Creston campus.

We all have an idea of what human trafficking is. Many of those ideas are influenced by media, and may lead us to overlook actual signs of human trafficking. We will discuss the five Ws of human trafficking: What it is, Who it happens to, Where it happens, Why it happens, When it happens, and how we can work together as a community to prevent it and to help survivors of trafficking.

This workshop will be presented by Gretchen Brown-Waech, human trafficking coordinator, Crime Victims Assistance Division, Iowa Attorney General’s Office.

Pre-registration is required online at https://ace.swcciowa.edu. Select the "Personal Safety" category. The deadline to register is Monday, Oct. 8, 2018.
