Southwestern's National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Club held its first meeting of the 2018-19 academic year on Wednesday, Sept. 19, at noon, in the Instructional Center, room 135.

During the meeting the group discussed the purpose of the club. The NAMI Club is in place to help break the stigma surrounding mental illnesses. The SWCC NAMI Club has been in place since August 2017.

The group will be traveling to Des Moines on Saturday, Sept. 29, to attend the National Eating Disorder Awareness (NEDA) Walk (see photo above from last year's walk). If anyone is interested in attending this year's walk, they should contact Kimmie Zepeda, SWCC NAMI Club president, by text at 641.344.5852 or by email at This email address is being protected from spambots.
