Southwestern Community College auto collision repair/refinish student James Bourn, of Red Oak, recently received a $2,000 scholarship for fall 2018 semester from the Iowa Automobile Dealers Foundation for Education (IADA).

Bourn will receive his diploma in auto collision repair/refinish following the summer 2018 session at SWCC. He plans to return for the second year of the program in 2018-19 to earn his Associate of Applied Science degree in auto collision repair/refinish.

The IADA scholarships are awarded to support students across Iowa who are in pursuit of degrees preparing them for careers in the automotive industry. This year, the IADA was able to award 20-$2,000 scholarships, partially due to the generosity of the association’s members, the auto dealers of Iowa. Red Oak Chrysler, Inc., owned by Mickey Anderson, of Stanton, is one of the auto dealers who chooses to donate to scholarships through the IADA.
