Members of the Southwestern Spartan Welding Club traveled to Pella on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018, to tour Vermeer Corporation, which is an industrial and agricultural equipment manufacturer.
Following the tour, students attended an American Welding Society (AWS)-Iowa Section meeting, and met with Dave Landon, Vermeer managing engineer and the 2015 national AWS president, as well as Dale Flood, the current 2018 AWS national president.
The students were accompanied on the trip by Micah Elefson, SWCC welding instructor and Spartan welding club sponsor.
