Spring 2018 PTK Inductees

Southwestern Community College’s Phi Theta Kappa academic honor society held its Spring Induction on Sunday, April 15, 2018, at 3 p.m. in the Allied Health and Science Center, room 900, on Southwestern’s Creston campus.

During the ceremony, the following new members were inducted into Southwestern’s Beta Eta Nu chapter: Jasmine Aviles of Crawfordville, FL, Shelby Freestone of Adel, Angel Girouex of Red Oak, Cole Higgins of Creston, Bryanna Howes of Fontanelle, Gabrielle Hunke of Mount Ayr, Morgan Johnston of Lenox, Kasydi Klommhaus of Mount Ayr, Paul Lorenz III of Creston, Ashley Porter of Davis, IL, Mattea Reed of Creston, Hannah Ryan of Davis, IL, Reinhardt Saunderson of Auckland, New Zealand, Kayla Siefkas of Osceola, Chance Webster of Panora, and Leevi Wilson of Diagonal.

Chapter officers for 2018-19 include Cassidy Becker, president of Diagonal; Shelby Freestone, vice president of leadership, of Adel; Kasydi Klommhaus, vice president of service, of Mt. Ayr; Paul Lorenz, vice president of fellowship, of Creston, and Hunner Siefkas, recorder, of Peru.

Phi Theta Kappa International serves to recognize and encourage the academic achievement of two-year college students worldwide. To be eligible for membership, students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above.
