AMERICA’S SBDC IOWA ANNOUNCES RECIPIENT OF RISING STAR AWARD

AMES, Iowa – Ethan Pitt, regional director of the South Central Iowa Small Business Development Center, at Southwestern Community College (SWCC) in Creston, has been named as the America’s SBDC Iowa Rising Star for 2020.

America’s SBDC Iowa recognizes SBDC personnel who have been with the organization for less than two years who are demonstrating exemplary work performance, significantly contributing to the organization’s economic development efforts, and showing strong leadership capabilities.

“I am excited to announce this new award for the Iowa network,” says Lisa Shimkat, America’s SBDC Iowa state director. “Ethan has been with us for just a few years, but he has accomplished so much. He really digs into projects, puts in the extra hours and always goes the extra mile for his clients. He has done an excellent job of building relationships with key stakeholders in his region. I am also impressed that he has done this while simultaneously working on his Master of Arts in economics degree, of which he graduated from the University of Missouri–Kansas City only a few weeks ago. We are honored to have Ethan in our network.”

Pitt has been the regional director of the South Central Iowa SBDC since 2018. He will be recognized at a special ceremony to be held at a later date.
