A career fair was hosted by Montgomery County Economic Development, in partnership with the Iowa Intermediary Network (Workplace Learning Network), and Southwestern Community College Red Oak Center on Jan. 16, 2020. Businesses participating included Clarios, Fres-co, Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak Chrysler, Brown’s Shoe Fit, Good Samaritan, Allensworth Heating and Cooling, Heartland FoamINSEALators, Nishna Productions, Red Oak Greenhouse, Parker, Hawkeye Ford, and American Building Crafts, Inc.
IowaWORKS and the Iowa Intermediary Network (Workplace Learning Network) provided resume writing assistance, interviewing tips, and help with filling out applications.
Prior to the career fair, employers had the opportunity to attend “Understanding eCigs,” a presentation from Tobacco Prevention Coordinator, Brandy Powers, Page County Public Health. The workshop focused on legislation, terminology, identification, and how to develop eCig policies and procedures for the workplace.
The event was well attended. In addition, there were some job offers given that day! Thank you to everyone that participated in the successful event.
