During these unprecedented times, created by the COVID-19 pandemic, Southwestern Community College has been working closely with its regional partners to give back when the college is able to do so.

Southwestern Community College offers licensed practical nursing and associate degree in nursing programs, and therefore, the college had a number of items on-hand that are currently in high demand at local hospitals and emergency management agencies. These are items such as hospital gloves, masks, gowns, etc.

Recent donations by Southwestern have included the following:

  • Clarke County Emergency Management Agency – The donation of two cases (240 units) of N95 masks.
  • Greater Regional Medical Center – The donation of two boxes of hospital gowns, two boxes of N95 masks, two boxes of fog-free masks, and two boxes of surgical masks; as well as the temporary loan of nine hospital beds and three IV pumps/pulls.
  • Montgomery County Emergency Management Agency – The donation of 10 isolation gowns, one package (25 units) of N95 masks, one box of large gloves, and one box (50 units) of surgical masks.
  • Union County Emergency Management Agency – The donation of two cases (240 units) of N95 masks.
