Southwestern Community College’s Dr. Jeremy Fox, professional music instructor, and students from the college’s vocal jazz group First Take, attended and performed at the 2020 Jazz Education Network (JEN) annual conference Jan. 7-10, in New Orleans.
Fox and First Take held a clinic during the conference entitled, “How to dig your vocal jazz charts deeper” and First Take performed as part of the JENerations Jazz Fest. In addition, Fox took part in a new vocal music reading session led by Paris Rutherford and he joined jazz singer Dee Daniels to clinic the Long Beach City College vocal jazz group, Lyrical Workers.

Fox was recently named area president for the Jazz Education Network for the state of Iowa. He will be serving a three-year term in this role.
