The following email was sent on April 24, 2020, to SWCC students, faculty, and staff regarding the summer 2020 class schedule ...

Good afternoon. As Southwestern Community College continues to monitor the COVID-19 situation, adjustments to the summer 2020 schedule have been made to ensure the health and safety of students, faculty, and staff. Face-to-face classes scheduled to begin Monday, May 11, will be delivered online through Friday, May 15. Students should log into Canvas on May 11 to begin their coursework. Beginning Monday, May 18, if conditions allow, individual or small group instruction following social distancing measures may be scheduled in Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs and the BIO 186 Microbiology w/ lab course. A revised summer 2020 schedule is attached. In these limited instances, information regarding course meeting times and requirements will be communicated to students by their instructor. Students should continue to check their email and Canvas messages frequently. Students enrolled in the registered nursing program should continue to follow the schedule communicated to them by their instructors. The college will continue to monitor recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Iowa Department of Public Health, and Iowa Department of Education, and communicate any additional adjustments to the summer 2020 schedule via email and on the college website.

Thank you for your continued patience and flexibility during these uncharted times.
