Tractor Supply Co. of Creston recently donated outdoor equipment, valued at $3,000, to the Southwestern Community College (SWCC) automotive repair technology program.
The donation consisted of slightly damaged equipment including a lawn mower, weed eater, push mower, and tiller. Students in the automotive repair technology program will repair the damaged items and get them in like-new working condition. The automotive club will then utilize the items for a fundraiser.
The gift will be donated to the college through the Southwestern Community College Education Foundation.
Southwestern offers a one-year diploma, as well as a two-year Associate of Applied Science degree in automotive repair technology. The automotive repair instructors are ASE (Automotive Service Excellence)-certified. The program is certified by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation, Inc. (NATEF) and the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence.
