The Southwestern Community College (SWCC) Red Oak Center is hosting a Nursing Program Open House, on Thursday, Oct. 28, from 4-7 p.m., to feature the college’s nursing program and highlight Red Oak’s registered nursing offerings. Future SWCC students and the general public are invited to attend.

SWCC offers nursing as a ladder program. This means students must complete their practical nursing (PN) year at SWCC (or another college/university) and pass the PN licensure exam to be eligible for SWCC's registered nursing program (RN).

SWCC’s Red Oak Center offers the registered nursing program in-person at the center. The program is offered on the Creston campus as well. The registered nursing program returned to Red Oak this year, following a two-year hiatus. The center is excited to have the program back, and is anxious to show the community some of the highlights of the program.

During the Open House, there will be presentations by some of the current nursing students, information available explaining the nursing program, and prize drawings throughout the night.
