On October 14-15, 2021, SWCC students Chase Miner, Phi Theta Kappa chapter president, and Thomas Esterhuyse, Phi Theta Kappa vice president of leadership, joined dozens of other Iowa honor students at the Iowa Regional Leadership Conference for Phi Theta Kappa (PTK). Also representing SWCC at the conference were Dan Platt, English instructor and PTK faculty advisor, and Jody Nedley-Newcomb, adjunct sociology instructor and PTK advisor emerita.
