Creston, IA—Tom Lesan, Southwestern Community College (SWCC) vice president of economic development, was honored at the college’s all-staff in-service, held on Friday, Jan. 7, 2021, in the college’s Instructional Center, for achieving a milestone 40 years of service to the college.

Lesan was originally hired as SWCC’s coordinator of adult education in January 1981. In 1986, Lesan became the college’s director of economic development. He transitioned into the role of assistant to the president in 1991 and was promoted to vice president of economic development in July 1992.

He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa and an Associate of Arts degree from SWCC.
