Greater Regional Health (GRH) recently committed to a gift of $50,000 for the purpose of establishing an endowment through Southwestern Community College’s Education Foundation in memory of longtime college administrator and men’s basketball coach William “Bill” Taylor, who passed away in 2019.

The endowment will be named the Bill Taylor Healthcare Education Endowment. Greater Regional Health CEO Monte Neitzel asked the GRH board to consider the establishment of an endowment in honor of Taylor for students pursuing education in healthcare at SWCC. Taylor was instrumental in the relationships between various departments at SWCC and GRH. Greater Regional Health benefits from the graduates it has received from SWCC in nursing, emergency services, and other areas.

Amanda Mohr, chief nursing officer, delivered news of Greater Regional’s total pledge to the college on Thursday, Dec.16. She is pictured above (at right) with Cait Maitlen (at left), SWCC Education Foundation executive director, and Dr. Marge Welch (center), SWCC president.

The SWCC Education Foundation has a tax-exempt status under section 501(c)3; therefore, a gift to the foundation is considered tax deductible to the extent allowable by law.
