In honor of National Agriculture Week, the SWCC agriculture department hosted an Open House and Creston Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, in the Agricultural Sciences Center at the Ag Site, north of the Creston campus.
Throughout the day, almost 100 people visited the Ag Site, learned about the programs, and toured the facilities. The ribbon cutting, held at 10 a.m., celebrated completion of the expansion of the ag facility. Although construction of the facility was completed in 2020, due to COVID-19, a ribbon cutting had not been held prior to today.
Pictured above (front row, holding the ribbon) are Chris Lane, Creston Chamber of Commerce representative; Dr. Marge Welch, SWCC president; Susannah Miller, SWCC ag instructor, Dr. Barb Crittenden, SWCC president at time of the Agricultural Sciences Center construction; and Ellen Gerharz, Creston Chamber of Commerce executive director.
