Autumn Morrison, SWCC TRIO-Student Support Services member from Osceola, was awarded an Educational Opportunity Association (EOA) Foundation scholarship at the Iowa TRIO Conference banquet, held at the Honey Creek Resort, on April 20, 2022.

The EOA Foundation scholarships are sponsored by the EOA Foundation Board of Directors. Students are nominated by TRIO/EOP professionals in their respective chapters and the state chapter scholarship committees select the recipients. A student from each state within the EOA region (Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, and Wisconsin) was awarded a scholarship of $1,000 to continue their educational goals in the Fall 2022 semester.

Morrison was nominated by Laurie Besco, SWCC TRIO-SSS director, and was one of approximately 130 scholarship applicants vying for a TRIO scholarship in Iowa. Morrison plans to complete her Associate of Arts degree at SWCC and transfer to a four-year university with the goal of becoming a counselor in a drug/mental health treatment facility.

Congratulations, Autumn!
