There are so many benefits! Do it!

The SWCC Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) chapter is meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 27, at 12 p.m., and again on Thursday, Sept. 28, at 2 p.m., in the Instructional Center, room 170. The meetings will include the same agenda, so please select the time that fits your schedule best.

If you received an invitation to join PTK, but haven’t yet accepted the invite, consider doing so. PTK is a worldwide organization leading to many networking and scholarship opportunities. Being a member alone will be a great addition to your resume and you will be eligible to wear PTK honor cords at graduation. To be eligible, students must have completed at least 12 hours of coursework toward an associate or bachelor’s degree or at least 6 hours of coursework toward a one-year certificate and have a cumulative 3.5 grade point average.

PTK recognizes the academic achievement of college students and provides opportunities for its members to grow as scholars and leaders. Established in 1918, PTK has a presence on almost 1,300 community college campuses in 11 nations. The American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) recognized PTK as the official honor society for two-year colleges in 1929. More than 3.8 million students have been inducted since 1918, with approximately 250,000 active members in the nation’s community colleges, making Phi Theta Kappa a true catalyst among members and colleges.
