Funeral arrangements for Halsie Barnes have been announced by the Armstrong Funeral Home of Mount Ayr. An open visitation will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023, from 12-8 p.m., at the First Christian Church in Mount Ayr. Family will be present from 3-8 p.m. Services for Barnes will be held on Saturday, July 29, at 2 p.m., in the Mount Ayr High School gymnasium.
Funeral arrangements for Ella Leonard have been announced by the Armstrong Funeral Home of Mount Ayr. Family will be present for visitation held at New Bridge Church, 1305 West Jefferson St, Winterset, IA on Wednesday, August 2 from 9-11 a.m. with services beginning at 11 a.m.
Barnes and Leonard, both SWCC students, sustained fatal injuries in a car accident on Friday, July 21, near Afton.
