The Spartan Cafe recently announced a new food service director,
Prior to Southwestern, Dodge was the food service director at St. Malachy School in Creston for 10 years. Her career has also included time as a teacher assistant, as well as a deli/bakery manager for a local supermarket. She is a lifetime resident of this area.
With Dodge in place, the Spartan Cafe has changes in store for SWCC to help the food service team provide better service, a better product, exercise more control over day-to-day operations, and assist with staffing issues.
Changes implemented will include:
- The concession side of the Caf' will be closed. The options currently being served at the quick service window will be moved to the Spartan Cafe, right where you enter.
- There will be one entrance to the Spartan Cafe. You will enter on the east side and exit and pay on the west side.
- You must have your student ID at time of payment if you are paying from your student account. If you need a new SWCC ID, please go to the SWCC library in the Instructional Center to get a new SWCC ID.
- Customers will be encouraged to use eat-in plates if eating at the Student Center. To-go containers will only be utilized if customer is leaving the building to eat.
- All-you-can-eat options will only be served on eat-in plates.
- Pasta options will move to the wok area.
- Wok meals can still be requested as well.
- The wrap station should re-open soon (has been closed due to electrical repairs being made).
- Sunday Brunch will continue to be offered from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. The Caf' closes for the day on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Sunday Brunch options include omelets, breakfast burritos, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, waffles, and a lunch entree; as well as chicken strips and ala carte items.
