The 2023 Southwestern Community College Education Foundation Donor-Scholar Dinner was held on Thursday, Sept. 21, at 6 p.m., in the SWCC Student Center gymnasium, to celebrate the generous scholarship donors, as well as the 2023-24 scholarship recipients.
During the ceremony, the W.D. and Shirley Schafer-Ray Educational Trust scholarship recipients were recognized. The trust awarded more than $273,000 to 45 local students, 28 being Southwestern Community College (SWCC) students, for the 2023-24 academic year.
Student speakers (pictured below) included Ally Birt of Corning, Noah Johnson of New Market, and Sydney Strunk of Creston.
The evening included a delicious dinner by Willy's of Creston.
