2023-24 SWCC PTK Officers
Creston, IOWA—Beta Eta Nu, Southwestern Community College’s (SWCC’s) Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) chapter, inducted new members during the 2023 Spring Induction Ceremony held on Thursday, March 30, at 5 p.m., in the Instructional Center, room 180.
 
Phi Theta Kappa serves to recognize and encourage the academic achievement of two-year college students and provide opportunities for individual growth and development through honors, leadership, and service programming. The guest speaker for the event was Doug Wallace, SWCC PTK member (circa 2000).

To be eligible for Phi Theta Kappa, students must meet the following requirements:
  • You must be enrolled in an accredited institution offering an associate degree program.
  • You must have completed at least 12 hours of coursework that may be applied to an associate degree (part-time students may be eligible).
  • You must generally have a grade point average of 3.5.
  • You must receive an invitation to membership from the chapter at the college where presently enrolled.
  • You must adhere to the moral standards of the society.
Joe Pastorino, business instructor, is the advisor for SWCC’s PTK chapter.
