Recently, the SWCC carpentry and building trades students and instructors delivered benches they donated to the Tingley City Park.
The benches were made during the carpentry Career Day competition, held on SWCC's Creston campus on Friday, Oct. 10, 2025. Southwestern Community College purchased the materials to construct the benches. The high school students themselves provided the labor, as they competed during the carpentry and building trades portion of the event.
High schools participating in the carpentry contest on Career Day at SWCC included Central Decatur, Creston, Lenox, and Southwest Valley.
