Participants competing in last year's SWCC indoor disc golf tournament

The Southwestern Community College (SWCC) Disc Golf Club will host its 10th Annual Indoor Disc Golf Tournament at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025, at the old Walmart building at 614 New York Ave in Creston, next to the Tractor Supply Co.

Entry to the tournament is free and open to the public. Beginners and experienced players are welcome. Players are encouraged to bring their own discs to use. In addition to a two-round, 9+ hole tournament, there will also be a virtual long-drive competition and multi-station putting challenge.

The prizes will include new and used discs from various businesses and community members. The top three spots will receive wooden mini discs engraved with the tournament logo as trophies.

This is the disc golf club's 10th annual event. Last winter, the tournament had its largest attendance, with 47 tournament participants.

The disc golf club is open to any SWCC student, faculty, or staff member interested in the game of disc golf, but as mentioned, the tournament is open to everyone. The purpose of the club is to increase awareness of the game, improve playing skills and understanding of the rules, and among other things, play disc golf.
