The 2025-26 Donor/Scholar Dinner was held on Thursday, Sept. 25, and was an evening dedicated to honoring both the donors who make educational opportunities possible and the scholars who are directly impacted by their generosity.
Hosted by the Southwestern Community College Education Foundation, the event celebrated the strong connection between philanthropy and student success. Donors were thanked for their commitment to investing in the future of education, and scholars were celebrated for their achievements, determination, and potential to make a lasting difference in the college and community. The evening highlighted the partnership that helps open doors for students and strengthens Southwestern’s purpose of providing accessible, high-quality education.
A highlight of the evening was hearing from four student speakers who shared their personal stories and gratitude to all donors present. Maddie Weston of Greenfield, Rylan Oglesbee of Massena, Tucker Knox of Redding, and Reagan Sonntag of Prescott each explained how scholarships have impacted their educational journeys and future goals. Their heartfelt words served as a reminder of the profound impact donor generosity has on students’ lives, providing not only financial support, but also encouragement and inspiration. The stories of these scholars, paired with the presence of the many donors in attendance, made the evening a true celebration of giving, growth, and shared success.
