Beta Eta Nu, Southwestern Community College's (SWCC's) chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, received word recently the chapter achieved 5-star status for 2024.
"This achievement reflects the hard work and dedication of many," stated Joe Pastorino, SWCC PTK advisor. "Through our research on social media misinformation, we engaged our peers on campus and sparked important discussions. We also crafted a framework for an international peer mentoring program to foster a more inclusive and welcoming campus community."
Pastorino said the chapter met various goals related to leadership development, professional growth, networking outreach, and community impact to earn the 5-star status.
"A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and made a positive impact," Pastorino said appreciatively.
