The Southwestern Community College art club is open to anyone who is interested in the arts. The purpose of the club is to promote art appreciation and the art program of Southwestern. You do not have to be enrolled in an art class to be involved. You need only be a SWCC student.
The club plans an annual trip to a major city to see art in museums and galleries. The club has visited cities such as Chicago, Kansas City, and St. Louis. The annual trip is traditionally funded in full or in part through fundraising efforts. For example, the group holds bake sales, raffles, commissioned artwork, events in the community, event on campus, and more.
Kelly Devitt, SWCC art & design instructor, is the advisor for the club and an instructor in the college's art & design department.
