What: Meals from the Heartland
When: Wed., April 22, 2026, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Where: Southwestern Community College Student Center gymnasium
Team sponsorship details:
- $525 per team
- 7-10 individuals per team (If you can’t fill a full team, but wish to sponsor a team, team members/volunteers will be provided for you.)
- One-hour time slot between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Southwestern Community College (SWCC) and Union County Development Association’s Lead UC programs partner annually to bring Meals from the Heartland to Union County. Meals from the Heartland is a meal packaging event held in conjunction with SWCC’s Pay it Forward (PIF) Week.
Since 2008, Meals from the Heartland, based in Des Moines, has coordinated thousands of volunteers to package millions of meals that have been distributed across Iowa, the nation, and the world.

If you are not interested in sponsoring a team but would like to donate to the event, donations will be accepted up to the day of the event.
Payment due to Southwestern Community College by April 22, 2026:
- Mail to Southwestern Community College, ATTN: Business Office, 1501 West Townline Street, Creston, IA 50801.
- Checks should be made payable to Southwestern Community College—Meals from the Heartland. Please include your team name in the memo.
