We’re happy to see students returning to classes as this will undoubtedly be a busy semester! Tutoring will begin Mon., January 20. Copies of the tutoring schedule are available in our office and will be updated on the website soon. We have contacted our SSS members to let them know that sophomores may apply for extra grant aid funds that were not used with our First Year Experience program. Applications are due Mon., January 20. Keith Olsen, program/transfer specialist, will be having a Transfer Tips & Scholarships workshop on January 29 and 30 from noon-1 p.m. both days. There is also a transfer trip scheduled to Graceland University on Fri., January 31. Students interested in these events can sign up in the TRIO--Student Support Services office.
Finally, please save Mon., February 17, from noon-1 p.m. in your calendars. Mixed Blood Theatre will be on campus again to perform “Black Eagle,” which is a story of astronaut Ronald E. McNair. We will post more information about this performance at a later date.
Hope your first week of classes has been a great one!
Laurie Besco, TRIO--SSS Director
