Beta Eta Nu, Southwestern Community College’s chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, recently announced Blythe Beck, nursing student, and Garrett Abell, liberal arts/business major, as the college’s nominees for the 2015-2016 All-USA/Coca-Cola Community College Academic Team and All-Iowa Academic Team.
After extensive review of the eight eligible student applications by a committee made up of support staff, faculty, and advisors, Beck and Abell were selected as the most well-rounded, qualified applicants. All of the applicants were qualified academically, involved in college and community activities, and highly regarded.
All students who completed the application are eligible for scholarships (Hites, Transfer, Guistwhite, GEICO Pathway to Completion) via the fall Bachelor’s Scholarship Application at Phi Theta Kappa International. In the spring, Phi Theta Kappa International has a returning student general application for scholarships for students returning to SWCC for the Fall 2016 semester.
