More than 100 people were trained during the Pay it Forward CPR/AED classes held during the month of April! The classes were sponsored and paid for by Creston's local insurance agents and taught by SWCC adult and continuing education instructors. Participating insurance agencies include Tyler Insurance Services; American Family, Katie Turner; Carter Insurance Agency; Farm Bureau, Joe Calvin; Hometown Insurance; and State Farm, Ben Adamson.
In addition, with the help of the following donations and grants from the Union County Healthcare Coalition and the Iowa Heart Foundation, the group has been able to obtain more than 20 AED units to be placed throughout southwest Iowa.
- Greater Regional Medical Center, $5,000
- Greater Regional Foundation, $5,000
- Iowa State Savings Bank, $3200 (plus placing four in their branch offices)
- First National Bank, $800
- Lowell and Jan Pettit, $500
