Three SWCC Student Senate members attended the 27th Iowa Association for Community College Trustees (IACCT) Student Legislative Seminar in Des Moines on Wed., January 28, 2015.
Addilie Herman, Rachael Christensen, and Megan Woods, all freshmen at SWCC, headed to the capitol to meet with area legislators, tour the capitol, and attend conference sessions with other Iowa community college students.
During the day, SWCC students had the opportunity to speak with Representative Joel Fry (R) and Senator Tom Shipley (R). Dr. Barb Crittenden, SWCC president; Beth Kulow, SWCC dean of students; and Caitlyn Lesan, SWCC admissions coordinator, accompanied the students to the event.
