Unlike many of the SWCC’s student clubs that have been around for years, the Psychology Club is still in its infancy. Despite its brief history, the club is in full swing and active on campus. This fall, under the guidance of club sponsor Tim Leonard, the club held a fundraiser to purchase club jackets, and more recently participated in the SWCC club Christmas tree decorating contest. Their theme for the contest is “Do you see what I see,” featuring handmade ornaments of inkblots used in the Rorschach test for personality.
In early November, Leonard and a few student club members, attended the Iowa Teachers of Psychology Conference in Pella. At this conference, they were able to listen to guest speakers and a handful of teachers discuss their teaching methods in the field of psychology.
The club is currently making plans for their next trip. Take a minute and check out the SWCC Psychology Club page on Facebook. If you are interested in joining or would like more information about the club, please contact club sponsor Tim Leonard.
