The Southwestern Community College (SWCC) Chamber Singers will be touring in the Des Moines area the week of December 2, 2019, presenting “Holiday Carols in Concert” with carols and masterworks by Rutter, Lauridsen, Mozart, Mattson, and Dawson. The public is invited to attend.

The Chamber Singers feature the amazing voices of students from across the United States, who have come to SWCC in Creston to attend the college’s School for Music Vocations (SMV). The choir will be directed by Lucas Mattson and Hannah Fearn, SMV music instructors.

Concert dates and locations follow:
• Monday, Dec. 2, 7 p.m. – United Methodist Church (Trinity Las Americas), 1548 8th St., Des Moines
• Tuesday, Dec. 3, 7 p.m. – St. Paul Presbyterian Church, 6426 Merle Hay Road, Johnston
• Wednesday, Dec. 4, 6:30 p.m. – Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 5625 Franklin Ave., Des Moines
• Thursday, Dec. 5, 7:30 p.m. – Central Presbyterian Church, 3829 Grand Ave., Des Moines
• Friday, Dec. 6, 7 p.m. – Grace Lutheran Church, 3010 52nd St., Des Moines

Free will donations will be accepted at each concert.

In addition, the SMV Chamber Singers will be performing a concert on the SWCC campus in the Performing Arts Center, 1501 W. Townline St., Creston, on Sun., December 15, at 7:30 p.m. The cost for admission to this concert is $10 per person or $5 for students and senior citizens.
