During the 2019-20 academic year, Southwestern Community College's Education Foundation is raising funds to increase the size of the college’s Agriculture Program Endowment. This endowment, which was established in 2008, is in place to offer scholarships to students in Southwestern's ag programs.
Southwestern offers ag business, ag transfer, crop production, and livestock production programs. Currently the college’s main ag facility, located on the Creston campus, is undergoing a $1.8 million expansion to accommodate growing class sizes. When the facility was originally built in 2001, the college had an ag enrollment of 12 to 15 students. Currently, Southwestern has approximately 55 students with ag-related majors each year.
