Southwestern Community College's (SWCC's) agricultural department and the Union County Historical Society are co-hosting an Old Time Wheat Threshing Demonstration in July at the SWCC agricultural site, north of the SWCC Creston campus on Green Valley Road, in conjunction with Creston's Sesquicentennial Celebration.

As part of the threshing event, spectators may view cutting, binding, and shocking of the wheat on July 1 and 2 from 4-8 p.m. The threshing of the grain will follow in mid-July, with the public invited to attend on July 16 and 17 from 4-8 p.m. This will be a great informational history lesson including horse- and tractor-drawn demonstrations of the threshing process.

All events will be come-and-go and the public is welcome to participate. For additional information, please contact 641.782.8159 or 641.782.1352.
