Grayson Hewett and Hallica Warren-Anderson

Creston, IOWA—Two Southwestern Community College (SWCC) students—Grayson Hewett of Red Oak and Hallica Warren-Anderson of Alpha, Illinois—were honored as members of the 2024 Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society All-Iowa Academic Team during an awards banquet held Monday, Feb. 26, 2024, at Curate in Des Moines.

Warren-Anderson is a sophomore at SWCC. She will graduate in May 2024 with an Associate of Arts degree, as well as an Associate of Applied Science degree in business administration. At SWCC, she has been a student-athlete and team captain for the volleyball team; vice president of fellowship for Beta Eta Nu, SWCC’s Phi Theta Kappa chapter; and a student ambassador. She has been named to the President’s List each semester of attendance and placed on the NJCAA All-Academic First Team. In April 2023, Warren-Anderson placed second in the nation in parliamentary procedure concepts at the Business Professional of America National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, California.

Hewett, a sophomore at SWCC, plans to earn his Associate of Arts from SWCC this spring and transfer to Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny to purse a pastoral studies degree. During his time at SWCC, he has been named to the President’s List and served as Phi Theta Kappa vice president of service. He has been a livestream and event announcer for the SWCC athletics department. He is a member of the SWCC concert choir.

Phi Theta Kappa International serves to recognize and encourage the academic achievement of two-year college students worldwide. Joe Pastorino, business instructor, is the advisor for SWCC’s Phi Theta Kappa chapter.
