SWCC will host its annual Community Awareness Day on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026, from 9-11 a.m., in the main hallway of the Instructional Center. A variety of community agencies will be on hand to provide information to SWCC students and staff about their services.
Community Awareness Day offers great opportunities for faculty to walk classes through this come-and-go event, so students may be aware of services available in SWCC's communities.
The college is excited to have a variety of local agencies on campus for this year's event and would like to see a lot of student participation.
Agencies committed to attending Community Awareness Day so far include:
- American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Iowa
- First Baptist Church
- Greater Regional Health
- Iowa State Savings Bank
- MATURA Action Corporation
- Rosecrance Jackson Centers of Iowa
- TRIO Student Support Services
- Union County Public Health
- ZION Integrated Behavioral Health Services
To register an organization/service, please contact event coordinator Deb Pantini.
SWCC students, hope to see you all during Community Awareness Day on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 9-11 a.m., in the main hallway of the Instructional Center!
