The Southwestern Community College (SWCC) board of trustees met in special session on Tues., October 27, at 8 a.m. in the president’s office of the Administration Center.

During the meeting, the board reviewed quotes from two companies for completion of the asbestos abatement project in the 200-bay of the Instructional Center. College administration had first explained this project to the board during the regular October board meeting, following discovery of the presence of asbestos in ceiling materials during renovation of the 200-bay.

The fall induction ceremony for Beta Eta Nu, the Southwestern Community College (SWCC) chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, will be held on Thurs., October 29, 2015, at 4 p.m., in room 140 of the Instructional Center.

NEW ON THE SWCC WEEK SCHEDULE! Register your team of two now for the SWCC Corn Hole Toss Tournament to be held Tues., October 20, at 5 p.m. at the SWCC Ag Site (located ¼ mile north of the main campus). The entry fee is $20 per team and the winners will walk away with $50.

Southwestern Community College's TRIO-Student Support Services program assists first-generation college students, low-income students, and students with disabilities by encouraging them to strive toward their academic and personal goals. TRIO-SSS provides support services designed to increase retention, graduation, and transfer rates.

The Southwestern Community College (SWCC) softball team is hosting a Mud Volleyball Tournament on Sun., September 27, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on the Creston campus.

There is a $10 per person entry fee. You may pull together a team or register individually and be assigned to a team.

Register with any SWCC softball player to play in the tournament.
