LOCATION - CRESTON, IOWA

Individual will be working with participants in the Student Support Services Program and will be primarily responsible for providing academic and/or career advising; hiring, training and supervision of tutors/mentors and the work study budget associated with these students among other personnel essential duties. Work schedule will typically align with the college academic year; additional days will also be scheduled to help with student orientations and other needs as determined by the college.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in counseling, psychology, sociology, education, student personnel, or other related field. Preference will be given to applicants with a master’s degree, experience in overcoming barriers similar to those of the target population and/or those with 1-3 years of experience working with SSS-eligible populations.

This is a grant-funded position. The TRIO-SSS grant has been continually funded since 1997, and the program began the first year of a 5-year grant in fall 2025. The SSS Advisor/Tutor Specialist position is a 12-month, full-time position with benefits.
