Southwestern Community College (SWCC) and the Union County Development Association’s Lead UC program are partnering to bring Meals from the Heartland to Union County on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Meals from the Heartland is a meal packaging event held in conjunction with Southwestern Community College’s Pay it Forward (PIF) Week. During the 2023 packaging event at SWCC, 85,000 meals were packaged for distribution! This year's goal is to package 100,000 meals!

Since 2008, Meals from the Heartland, based in Des Moines, has coordinated thousands of volunteers to package millions of meals that have been distributed across Iowa, the nation, and the world.
