SWCC employees and students with Rep. Devon Wood of New Market

Southwestern's agricultural programs were featured during the 2024 Community College Day on the Hill, held Tuesday, Feb. 27, at the Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines.

During this event, community college trustees, presidents, staff, and business partners showcased career and technical education (CTE) programs offered at community colleges throughout the state. The importance of the Last Dollar Scholarship was also emphasized by all community colleges in attendance.

Community College Day on the Hill was organized by the Community Colleges for Iowa. SWCC offers three ag programs--ag businessag business (for transfer)crop production, or livestock production--directed toward preparing students for the workforce, or students may complete the Associate of Arts degree with an agriculture major if their goals are to transfer and earn bachelor's degrees.
