Celebrate the grand opening of Southwestern Community College's (SWCC’s) newest facility during the SWCC Transportation Training Center Ribbon Cutting on Thursday, May 15, 2025, from 10-11 a.m., at the Transportation Training Center, located next to the Agricultural Sciences Center, at the SWCC ag site, north of the Creston campus on Green Valley Road.

The 2025 Southwestern Community College (SWCC) commencement ceremonies will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025, in the Student Center gymnasium on the Creston campus.
The ceremonies will be held at the following times:
- 4 p.m. - Licensed Practical Nursing Commencement and Lamplighting Recognition and Associate Degree Nursing Commencement and Pinning Ceremony
- 7 p.m. - Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Arts and Sciences (college transfer) Commencement Ceremony

The Southwestern Community College (SWCC) art department is hosting In the Making, a student all-media art exhibition, on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 6-8 p.m., at the Creston Historic Depot art gallery at 116 W. Adams Street, in Creston.

Since 2023, the Magneson family of Stanton has been awarding tool carts to Southwestern Community College (SWCC) auto collision repair/refinish students on behalf of the Merlin and Ann Magneson fund through SWCC’s Education Foundation. Last week, during SWCC’s annual Pay it Forward Week, Jeff Magneson, SWCC auto collision repair/refinish instructor and son of Merlin and Ann, presented the tool carts to four deserving students.
