Creston— The Southwestern Community College board of trustees met on Tues., January 10, 2017, at 8 a.m. in the president’s office in the Administration Center for their regular monthly board meeting.
During the meeting, the board approved the early retirement request of Jason Smith, SWCC professional music instructor, at the end of his current contract. Smith has been a music instructor at the college since August 1992.

Registration is open for the Health Careers Employment and Education Fair at Southwestern Community College on Thursday, April 20, 2017. The fair will be held from noon–2:30 pm, in the Instructional Center, room 180.

Southwestern Community College (SWCC) automotive students Richard Welsch and Josh Johnson placed third in the hands-on portion of the 2016 Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC)/Iowa Automobile Dealers Association High School Automotive Skills Contest held on Friday, Dec. 16, 2016, at DMACC in Ankeny. This competition recognizes some of the best high school auto technicians in the state.

Southwestern Community College freshman Evann Farrens, of Lenox, is one of 23 Iowa college students who have been named to the Iowa Corn Collegiate Advisory Team (CAT) for 2016-17.

The Southwestern Community College (SWCC) board of trustees held their regular board meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016, at 5:30 p.m. in the college’s Administration Center.
During the meeting, board members voted to receipt and file the college’s Audit Report as presented.

CRESTON — The TRIO Educational Talent Search (ETS) program at Southwestern Community College is hosting an ACT Boot Camp on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m., in the college’s Instructional Center, room 220, to assist high school students in preparation for the ACT Test.
