Creston— The Southwestern Community College (SWCC) board of directors met on Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at 5:30 p.m. in the SWCC Administration Center for their regular monthly board meeting.

Southwestern Community College (SWCC) came home with four gold medal finishes following the Iowa SkillsUSA competition on Friday, April 28, at Des Moines Area Community College in Ankeny. These first place finishes qualify the students for national SkillsUSA competition in Louisville, KY, from June 18-23.

Beginning Monday, May 8, 2017, the SWCC Shoppe will be buying back textbooks and students will be able to return rental textbooks. Buyback runs all week, May 8-12, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., each day.

The Southwestern Community College (SWCC) spring commencement ceremony will be held on Friday, May 12, 2017, at 7:30 p.m. in the Student Center gymnasium. The commencement speaker will be Randy Hughes, retiring SWCC history instructor.

Thanks to everyone for an amazing Pay it Forward (PIF) Week from April 15-21! The involvement from across campus was unbelievable this year. All your hard work is very much appreciated and the impact was felt community-wide.
