Paula Ebersole, assistant special agent in charge for the Omaha field office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) was a guest speaker in SWCC's criminal justice classes on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2020. Ebersole discussed cases, talked about career opportunities within the FBI, and answered student questions.

Southwestern Community College sophomore ag business student Cody Miller of Thayer was recently honored by Kubota Tractor Corp., in partnership with the Farmer Veteran Coalition, as one of five farmer veterans nationwide to receive Kubota equipment as part of the 2020 Geared to Give program.

Congratulations to the 2020 SWCC Week TikTok Challenge winners! Originally, we were going to select two winners, but because the competition was so fierce, and so plentiful, we selected four. And to all of the participants, your videos were amazing … and hilarious … and full of school spirit! It was wonderful to have so many to choose from!

During 2020, Southwestern Community College’s criminal justice program partnered with the Union County attorney’s office to create a unique internship opportunity for the college’s criminal justice students. The collaboration began following a discussion between Diogenes Ayala, Southwestern criminal justice instructor, and Tim Kenyon, Union County attorney.
