Microsoft offers Office 365 for free to Southwestern Community College students.

To get started, visit https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/download-office and then choose Windows or Mac.

Once the program is installed, sign-in with the same user name and password you use for your SWCC webmail account.

(Chromebook users will not be able to download Office 365, however they can use the cloud based version of the apps by visiting https://m365.cloud.microsoft/apps and signing in with your SWCC webmail account.  Then you can click which app you want to use).

Zapped Lazer Tag will be in the Student Center gymnasium on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Come compete against other SWCC students and employees in an alien versus Army world. It's a futuristic world of chaos and corruption where humans have not dared to go before.

This event is free to SWCC students and employees. Lazer tag is sponsored by the student activities department.

CRESTON — Representatives from Southwestern Community College (SWCC) were on-hand Thursday, July 12, 2018, at Osceola Food, a local manufacturing facility owned by Hormel Foods Corporation (NYSE:HRL), to sign five Osceola Food employees for SWCC’s industrial technology program in Creston.

The Southwestern Community College cross country program is hosting a 5K, 1 Mile Fun Run & Pancake Feed on Saturday, Aug. 4, at 8 a.m. Races begin at the main entrance of the Instructional Center on campus at 1501 West Townline St., in Creston. A free-will donation pancake feed, open to the public, will be held in conjunction with the event from 9-11 a.m., in the Spartan Cafe, located in the SWCC Student Center. Suggested donation amounts are adults, $10, and children, $5.

Registration for the 5K is $25 and runners must be registered by July 28 to guarantee a T-shirt. A one-mile fun run will be held beginning at 9 a.m. as well. The fun run is free (donations to the cross country program will be accepted).

CRESTON, Iowa—Southwestern Community College (SWCC) electrical technology student Cory Marquardt, of Creston, came home from the 2018 SkillsUSA Championship, held June 25-29, 2018, in Louisville, KY, with some new hardware, a gold medallion indicating a first place national finish.
