Fall 2018 semester textbooks are available for purchase or rental in the SWCC Shoppe beginning Monday, July 16. To purchase textbooks, students will need their class schedules and student IDs.

The Iowa Automobile Dealers Foundation for Education recently awarded Southwestern Community College’s automotive programs a $5,700 grant to purchase a refrigerant recovery machine to be utilized by students in the programs.

Southwestern Community College auto collision repair/refinish student James Bourn, of Red Oak, recently received a $2,000 scholarship for fall 2018 semester from the Iowa Automobile Dealers Foundation for Education (IADA).

A concussion can be a very serious injury. Concussions are not only a result of organized sports, concussions can happen to anyone.
A Discussion About Concussion, scheduled for Wednesday, July 18, 2018, from 5:30-8 p.m., in the Southwestern Community College Instructional Center, room 180, is a FREE workshop being presented by Greater Regional Rehabilitation Services and Brain Injury Alliance of Iowa. During the event, valuable information will be shared concerning the signs and symptoms of concussions, the significance and treatment, valuable resources, and potential lasting effects and rehab indications.

MAY 10, 2018--Today was the final day of classes for SWCC's second-year collision repair/refinish students. They were just a few days short of having this team project complete--a PPG Hot Rod semi gloss black with BASF orange dye/metal flake accents.

Joni Ernst, United States senator for Iowa, and Tom Shipley, Iowa senator, were on the Southwestern Community College Creston campus Wednesday, May 30, 2018, to meet with college employees and community leaders. Their discussion included training for students, economic development, and career paths to assist students in the direction of high-demand professions.
