SWCC auto students and instructors pictured with new machine

Students and instructors from Southwestern Community College's automotive programs took time from their schedules to pose for a photo to thank the Iowa Automobile Dealers Foundation for Education (IADA) for a $5,700 grant awarded to SWCC for the purchase of a refrigerant recovery machine.

The Iowa Automobile Dealers Foundation for Education recently awarded Southwestern Community College’s automotive programs a $5,700 grant to purchase a refrigerant recovery machine to be utilized by students in the programs.

Dawn Roach and fellow student at museum in Lincoln, NE

Southwestern Community College automotive repair technology student Dawn Roach (pictured above, at right) recently wrote an article that has been published in Tomorrow's Technician magazine and on

Roach and her SWCC automotive classmates and instructors traveled to Lincoln, NE, late last year to tour the Speedway Motors Museum of American Speed. The article talks about their trip to the museum, as well as about Roach's decision to enter the automotive field.
