Course registration for the fall 2016 semester begins soon! Current career and technical education students will begin registering on Thurs. and Fri., April 7 and 8. Current arts and sciences students will begin registering on Mon., April 11. Students new to SWCC for the fall 2016 semester may begin registering on Mon., April 18.

There were some issues with the online registration form and your original form was NOT saved on the system.

Southwestern Community College is hosting a 2016 Regional Beginning Farmer and Military Veteran Workshop on Thurs., April 14, from 9-11:30 a.m., in room 180, of the Instructional Center. The objectives for the workshop are to raise awareness of programs that support beginning farmers and military veterans and identify program processes and points of contact.

The Southwestern Community College board of trustees held its regular meeting on Tues., March 8, 2016, at 5:30 p.m. in the board room of the Administration Center.
A public hearing was held for the college’s fiscal year 2017 budget. No oral or written objections or petitions were heard or submitted. The board approved the budget as presented.

Register now for the Tie Dye Retro Run 5K Run/Walk! You guessed it, there will be color stations throughout the run. The race will take place in conjunction with PIF Week on April 18, 2016, starting at 5:30 p.m. The run/walk will begin north of the Performing Arts Center (view the Retro Run Map).

Registration is $20 per person and includes a race T-shirt. Registration may be paid at the SWCC business office in the Administration Center or by credit card at 641.782.1448. Checks should be made out to Southwestern Community College. Shirts for non-participants may be purchased for $10 each.
Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) and Business Professionals of America (BPA) are sponsoring the 5K walk/run event during Pay it Forward (PIF) Week to raise funds for their organizations.

Southwestern Community College is celebrating its 50th anniversary during 2016. The college will host a come and go Open House on Sat., April 16, from 2-4 p.m. in the Student Center, on the Creston campus, 1501 W Townline Street, in celebration of this milestone. The public is invited.

Southwestern Community College's Phi Theta Kappa chapter, Beta Eta Nu, will be hosting its formal induction for new members on Sun., April 3, 2016, at 3 p.m., in the Instructional Center, room 180. All new Phi Theta Kappa members for the 2015-16 school year, their families, and friends are invited to attend. Southwestern faculty and staff members are encouraged to attend as well.

On March 8, 2016, Ron Cain, former Southwestern Community College math instructor, donated a da Vinci XYZ model 3-D printer to the college's math and physics department. Wade Sick, math and physics instructor, accepted the donation on behalf of the college.
